How do you build the self-build sauna barrel?

These steps show how to build up the barrel of the self-build sauna

  1. Installing the First Crescent Profile:
    • Place a crescent profile on the two walls. Make sure that the walls fall into the groove of the crescent profile.
  2. Confirming the Left Crescent Profiles:
    • All of them place the left crescent profiles on the left side and screw them in with two 4.5x60 screws per half moon profile. You position the screws in the middle of the groove. Do this up to about two thirds of the height of the sauna. Make sure that each new crescent profile matches the previous profile properly. To do this, use a rubber hammer.
  3. Confirming the Right Crescent Profiles:
    • Place the right crescent profiles on the right side piece by piece and screw them in with two 4.5x60 screws per profile. You position the screws in the middle of the groove. Do this up to about two thirds of the height of the sauna. Make sure that each new crescent profile fits snugly to the previous profile, use a rubber hammer for this.
  4. Placing the Upper Crescent Profiles:
    • Place the remaining left crescent profiles without screws. Leave enough space on top so that one more profile can be inserted.
    • Place the remaining right crescent profiles without screws. Leave enough space on top so that one more profile can be inserted.
  5. Finishing the Upper Crescent Profiles:
    • Delete the top middle crescent profile.
    • Place a final left and right crescent profile.
  6. Custom Sawing of the Latest Crescent Profiles:
    • Measure the distance (distance A).
    • Cut an extra right crescent profile to size, this is half of the measured size A.
    • Also cut a left crescent profile to size, which is also half of the measured size A.
  7. Attaching the Custom Cut Profiles:
    • Screw the two cut to size parts together (with the hollow curve out) with 4.5x60 or 5x100 screws (whichever fits). Place one screw every 50 cm. Note: If you have a wood stove, do not install screws from 20 cm to 50 cm from the back.
  8. Installing the Last Double Crescent Profile:
    • Place the last double crescent profile you just made, possibly use a rubber hammer to position it.
  9. Attaching the straps:
    • Place the straps and make sure they are next to the screws. Tighten the straps manually so that they stay in place but are not tight yet.
  10. Removing the Screws in the Formwork:
    • Now that the straps ensure that the formwork beams stay in place, remove the screws in the formwork up to the slipper.
  11. Tighten the straps:
    • Place the straps on the measurements below and tighten them tightly. While clamping with a rubber hammer, hammer the formwork into the correct shape. Tighten the tires with an impact driver and a wrench.
  12. Confirming the Rain Guiders:
    • Attach the rain guides to the formwork with 4.5x60 screws on both sides, one screw approximately every meter. Don't screw through the straps.
  13. Optional: Attaching Decorative Arches:
    • Pre-drill the holes with a 3mm drill at the specified dimensions.
    • Attach the arches to the front and back. Start at the top center and use two 4x60 screws each. Make sure the first one is level and well in the middle.
