How to Install the Electric Heater in Your DIY Sauna

The following steps will guide you through the installation of an electric heater in your DIY sauna.

Drilling a Hole for the Cable Connection:

  1. Drill the Hole:
    • Use an 18mm drill bit to drill a hole for the heater cable. Drill through the tile, the floor, and the formwork to the outside.
    • The hole should be 14 cm from the back of the tile.

Installing and Connecting the Electric Heater:

  1. Install the Heater:
    • Install the heater according to the heater instructions.
  2. Pull the Cable:
    • Pull the cable through the hole to the outside.
  3. Fill the Heater:
    • Only fill the heater with stones after a successful test.

Attaching the Switch Box:

  1. Screw the Box:
    • Screw the switch box onto the rear skid of the sauna (left or right).
  2. Pull the Cable:
    • Pull the heater cable to the switch box.
  3. Connect the Electricity:
    • Always have a certified electrician connect the sauna's electricity.
