How do I use the filter system

First use

Make sure that the hot tub is fully filled with water and that any ball valves between the hot tub and the filter system are open before you switch on the pump.

There is filter glass in the tank of the filter system, which ensures that dirt is filtered out of the water. When using the filter system for the first time, it may come with dust; to prevent it from ending up in the clean water, it is advisable to first set the filter system to the backwash position and only then switch on the power. How to perform a backwash is explained below.

Filtration moments

We recommend 24 hours of filtration per day Make sure that the filter always runs in combination with the UV lamp. Otherwise, the UV lamp will burn out. You can check whether the filter pump is working properly in various ways. here you can read more.

Filtering

Move the handle on the filter head to the filter position. We recommend running the filter system 24/7. It is important to plug the UV lamp into the socket only when the filter pump is on in filter mode. This is because the UV lamp is cooled by the water that flows through the lamp.

Backwash

After about 3-6 weeks, depending on how often you use the hot tub, it is important to perform a backwash. As a result, the filter system gives itself a rinse.

Connect the backwash hose to the backwash outlet of the filter system. Make sure that the UV lamp and filter pump are switched off. After that, you can move the handle on the filter head to the backwash position.

PAY ATTENTION! NEVER move the handle on the filter head to a different position while the filter pump is running, as this may cause irreparable damage to the filter head.

When the handle is in the backwash position, you can turn the filter pump back on. Water is now pumped out of the backwash outlet, after about 15 seconds, clean water comes out of the outlet and the pump can be switched off again.

Rinse

After the backwash, you must use the rinse function. When the filter pump is off, you can put the handle in rinse position. Then turn the pump back on and leave it on for about 15 seconds. When the pump is off, you can put the handle back into the filter position.

Bulky dirt filter

When the Ducktub is empty or closed with freezer caps, you can open the bulky waste filter. By turning the round cap to the left, it will open and you can remove and clean the basket. Once you have tightened the round cap again and the filter system is back on, it is possible that there is air in the bulky dirt filter, which you can get rid of by unscrewing the round cap slightly. Make sure you do not completely unscrew this round cap when the Ducktub is filled and no freezer caps are used.

UV Filter

The UV lamps have a lifespan of approximately 1.5 years with average use. After that, it is possible that the lamp is on but the effect of the lamp has been greatly reduced. A replacement lamp is available in our webshop.

Filter glass

The filter medium filter glass is located in the large filter tank, which lasts 3 to 5 years. New filter glass is available in our webshop.
