Fresh water in your hot tub? With the right care, a filter system and test strips, you can keep it clean for a long time.
Of course, you want to be able to enjoy clean, fresh and pure water in the hot tub. But did you know that water quality is always changing? Water can change rapidly due to use, weather and location. Sometimes it stays clear with your neighbors for months, while it becomes cloudy after just two weeks. That is normal. Water is a living element, and not naturally crystal clear and blue, but rather light green and cloudy.
Do you want to keep the water fresh for as long as possible? Then a filter system with a UV filter is the best solution. This system removes dirt and kills bacteria with UV light, making the water last up to 3 months. Combine this with covering your hot tub, showering thoroughly before use and cleaning the filter and tub regularly, and you'll enjoy clean water for an extra long time.
No filter system? No problem, but you should be more active about it. Use products such as Aqua Clean (active oxygen) or possibly chlorine. This helps to improve water quality and combat bacteria, although you need to keep measuring this properly. You use test strips for this: they give you insight into the pH value, chlorine or oxygen content, and general water balance.
So stay tuned and dare to experiment. Sometimes something works perfectly for one person, but you have to find another way. By testing and making small adjustments, you will discover what works best for your situation. And remember: water doesn't always have to be clear to be clean. Look at the values, not just the color.
