A well-functioning filter system keeps your hot tub water clear and hygienic. Ideally, let the system run continuously.
For a Welvaere Ducktub hot tub with a filter system, we recommend running the filter 24 hours a day. The filter consumes 0.28 kW and the UV lamp 21 Watts.
The amount of filtration needed depends on usage, location, and whether you use tap water or well water and chemicals. While using the hot tub, you can turn off the filter and the UV lamp — note: these are two separate plugs.
Regularly check the water parameters. If they remain stable, you can experiment with shorter running times, for example, turning it off for a few hours in the morning. Stagnant water can form bacteria and fungi within four hours, especially with incorrect pH values.
Also consider the weather: rain, sun, or thunderstorms can affect the water values. A small dose of chlorine helps to manage these fluctuations and keep the water clean. Ultimately, usage and weather conditions will determine what works best for you.
