How much power does a hot tub use?

The power consumption of your hot tub varies by function. Heating requires the most, lighting the least.

🔌 Power consumption per component (per hour):

— Electric heating (Balboa system): 3 kW
— Welclear filter system (cartridge filter): 0.43 kW
— Glass filter system: 0.35 kW
— Jets: 0.75 kW
— Bubbles: 0.3 - 0.7 kW (depending on the size of the tub)
— LED lighting: 0.008 kW
— UV lamp: 0.012 kW

💡 Tips for use:
— The filter system works best when it's on 24/7
— Bubbles, jets and lights only use power when you use them
— Electric heating is slow (1 to 2 degrees per hour), so leave the system on continuously for a consistently warm hot tub

Please note that the power consumption in the winter higher than in summer, because heating cold water requires more energy.

Do you want to use less power? Then choose a well-insulated cover and use the heating element efficiently.
