You fire with dry firewood. Pallets or processed wood are not suitable. Would you rather not have wood? Opt for electric or biodiesel.
To heat your hot tub with a wood stove, we recommend using only dry, clean firewood. Preferably start with a light type of wood such as birch or alder to get the fire going.
— Waste wood or wood with paint residues
— Impregnated or painted wood
— Particle board or pallet wood
— Wet or damp wood from the garden
— Paper, cardboard or newspapers
This is because these materials cause extra smoke, smell, contamination of the stove and chimney and can release harmful substances such as heavy metals. In addition, the burning of paper and cardboard is prohibited by law because of the amount of particulate matter and fly ash it causes.
Do you still have a smoke problem or are your neighbours complaining? Then you can consider extending the stove tube or a ABCAT smoke filter to install. This significantly reduces smoke and odour.
— Electric heating: with a heating element in the hot tub
— Biodiesel: via an external biodiesel heater that is connected to the filter
So you can enjoy a hot tub without having to heat up.
