Are there times when I shouldn't smoke?

In windless, foggy or stuffy weather, smoke lingers. Choose a dry day with light wind for heating.

There are weather conditions where it is better not to heat up your hot tub or sauna. This mainly has to do with how smoke spreads.

  • Windless or foggy weather: the smoke lingers and can accumulate in the garden or neighborhood. This causes more inconvenience for you and your neighbors.
  • Muggy and warm weather: At high temperatures and little air circulation, smoke is less likely to escape.
  • Humid weather: When it rains or high humidity, wood is harder to burn, especially when it is not dry properly.

The best times to burn are days when it is dry and there is a light breeze. Then the wood burns through properly and the smoke can go away.

💡 Tip: always use dry and clean firewood. Avoid waste wood, paper, or wet wood to prevent extra smoke and odour.
