The following steps describe the installation of the wood stove in your DIY sauna.
Cutting Out the Hole for the Chimney:
- Cut the Hole:
- Cut the hole, which was also sawn in the wooden formwork, out of the roof shingles. This is where the stove pipe will be placed.
Installing the Wood Stove:
- Position the Stove:
- Place the wood stove in the sauna and ensure that the chimney of the stove is centered in the hole in the roof.
Installing the First Chimney Pipe:
- Place the Pipe:
- Place the first double-walled chimney pipe. Make sure that the supplied metal plate and hose clamp are around the pipe.
Connecting the Chimney Pipes:
- Add the Second Pipe:
- Place the second double-walled chimney section into the first and connect them together with the hose clamp.
Attaching the Metal Plate:
- Secure the Plate:
- Screw the metal plate to the ceiling with four 4x20 screws.
Chimney Sealing:
- Seal the Chimney:
- Use bitumen sealant to create a seal around the chimney on the roof. Ensure it is slightly smaller than the rubber cap.
Placing the Rubber Cap:
- Position the Cap:
- Pull the rubber cap over the chimney. If necessary, use WD-40 or water as a lubricant.
- Secure the Cap:
- Press the rubber cap firmly onto the bitumen sealant and screw it onto the roof with twelve 4x20 screws.
Attaching the Hose Clamp:
- Tighten the Clamp:
- Tighten a supplied hose clamp around the rubber cap and the pipe.
Placing the Rain Cap:
- Install the Cap:
- Finally, place a piece of pipe and the rain cap in the chimney.
