A Ducktub hot tub can stand on different surfaces.
We always recommend placing the hot tub on a sturdy to install a surface. After all, a filled hot tub weighs quite a bit and you don't want it to sink. The weight depends on the model you have chosen. For example, our lightest model filled with water weighs 940 kg and the heaviest model 2328 kg.
It is also important to choose a surface that is as dry remains possible. You don't want your hot tub to be on a surface where water easily accumulates under the tub and is difficult to run away. This is not good for the wood at the bottom.
In addition, make sure that the surface level is. In any case, it is of course less comfortable when the hot tub is tilted, but it is also important that the hot tub and wood stove are at the same height. If not, the natural circulation of the water in the stove no longer works properly. This can cause the stove to break down because it can no longer lose its heat.
This is the option most people go for. This way, you can be sure that the surface is firm (provided that, of course, the ground under the stones is not sinking) and you can also level it fairly easily. You can build a piece of street at the same height as the rest of the garden or go for a raised terrace. Of course, which stones or tiles you go for depends entirely on your taste and garden style.
A hot tub on a nice piece of green grass looks great, but we don't recommend putting it directly on the grass. As soon as the hot tub is filled with water, it will sink into the grass. Especially when the grass gets damp. You also don't want the soil directly under the hot tub to stay very wet and damp for a long time. This way, mold can easily develop and you have a chance that the wood will last less long. What you can do is place a stone surface right under the beam structure where the hot tub is located. For example, the hot tub stands on a hard surface, but it looks like it's just standing on the grass. This provides just a little more strength and certainty that the hot tub stays in place. It also makes it easier for the water under the hot tub to drain away.
A hot tub on a wooden deck gives it a nice, stylish look. This really creates a separate wellness area for the Ducktub. In addition, it also has the advantage that the hot tub stays dry at the bottom because it is slightly away from the surface. However, the wood can become slippery because of the water. You should be careful with this when getting in and out.
You can also choose to put the Ducktub on gravel. This again comes in an endless number of shapes and colors. The advantage of gravel is that the water that splashes over the hot tub when you sit in it or when you empty the hot tub can easily run off between the gravel. Here, too, it is advisable to provide a firm surface under the beam structure. This includes honeycomb mats or tiles so that the hot tub is always sturdy.
