What kind of electricity do I need for my sauna?

Electric sauna heater? Then you need power. View the connection requirements per heater and practical information for your electrician here.

When you opt for an electrically heated sauna, there must be an appropriate power supply. So you can enjoy your sauna carefree.

👉 Important: always have this done by a certified electrician.

Connections per heater

Note: We do not offer Monophase ourselves. If you opt for a self-build sauna, you may be able to choose this yourself. This requires adjustments to the sauna by an electrician.

Important technical notice

For cable lengths exceeding 20 metres, a certified electrician must assess whether the installation is technically feasible, taking into account the required cable cross-sections.

Huum does not recommend connecting their heaters to a single-phase power supply. The cable type and cross-section depend on the total cable length and should be assessed on site by the installer responsible for the connection.

Furthermore, Huum heaters with a power rating above 9 kW may not be connected to single-phase supply. The Mini 9 kW is therefore the maximum output permitted for single-phase operation.

Furthermore important:

  • Insert the socket up to 2 meters from the back of the sauna.
  • We ensure that there is a control unit at the sauna and that the plug comes out of the back of the sauna. All you have to do is plug it in.

Connection in combination with lighting

  • With remote control (HUUM Uku or Harvia Xenio): lighting is supplied via the power plug.
  • Other saunas with electric heaters: in addition to the power plug, there will also be a 230V plug.

Lighting only (with a wood-burning stove)

  • No power required.
  • However, a 230V outdoor socket, a maximum of 2 meters from the rear slipper.
