What else do I need to arrange before the hot tub arrives?

The excitement can begin. Before your hot tub is installed, there are a few practical things you can already arrange. Luckily, it’s all quite straightforward. With good preparation, we’ll ensure a smooth installation together and years of relaxing enjoyment.

1. Choose a beautiful spot

Start thinking about where the hot tub will look best in your garden. Keep the following in mind:

  • View and privacy
  • Walking routes in the garden
  • Enough space around the hot tub
  • Accessibility for placement

Are you unsure about the location or the route to the garden? Feel free to send us a few photos or a video of the situation. We’ll be happy to take a look with you.

2. Provide a solid foundation

A hot tub must always be placed on a stable, level surface. This prevents subsidence and ensures safe placement.

Suitable surfaces include:

  • Concrete slab, solid and maintenance-free
  • Tiles, if properly laid and level
  • Wooden decking, provided it has sufficient load-bearing capacity
  • Poured slab, an extra solid solution

A soft or unstable surface is not suitable.

3. Arrange water and electricity if needed

To fill the hot tub, you need an easily accessible outdoor tap or another water supply.

If your hot tub has parts that use electricity, such as:

  • Electric or biodiesel heating
  • A filtration system
  • Bubbles or jets
  • Lighting

Make sure there is a suitable power connection in the right place. For a Balboa system (electric heating), we usually recommend a separate circuit.

4. Check the position of the connections

Have you chosen a filtration system or other technical components? Carefully check whether the connections are on the correct side of the hot tub.

Compare the position on the quote with how you want to place the hot tub in your garden. This helps prevent surprises during installation.

Is something not right? Let us know in time, and we’ll look for a solution together.

5. Ensure good accessibility

Our delivery team, or you yourself if the hot tub is delivered curbside, must be able to safely move the hot tub to the right spot. Please check in advance:

  • The width of gates and passageways. The passage the hot tub needs to be carried through should be around 1.20 m wide and, depending on the model, around 2.30 m high. If this is not possible, removing a fence panel can often be an option.
  • Obstacles in the garden
  • Height restrictions from roofs or canopies
  • The route from the street to the garden

Are there any special circumstances we should take into account? Please let us know in advance so everything goes smoothly on delivery day.

6. Have you chosen external transport?

Then there are a few things you will need to connect yourself. But don’t worry, we have designed everything to make this easy to do yourself.

This may include:

  • Connecting the filtration system
  • Connecting any pipes
  • Connecting the power supply, if applicable
