How do I maintain my glass filter system?

As time passes, more and more debris accumulates in the filter. Therefore, it is important to maintain the filter system regularly

Backwashing the filter system

When there is dirt in the filter system, the pressure in the filter tank rises. When it has risen by 1.5 bar, it is time for a backwash. This rinses your pump clean.

How often you should backwash the pump depends on how often you use the hot tub. On average, once every 3-6 weeks will be fine. In addition, we recommend backwashing the system every time you refill the hot tub. This keeps the dirty water that has remained in your filter from getting into the clean water.

🔧 Step by step: perform backwash
1. Install hose.
Connect the drain hose (backwash hose) to the outlet of the filter.

Place the end of the hose in a place where the water can drain easily (for example, in the garden or a well).
👉 Quite a lot of water comes out, so choose a practical place!

2. Turn off pump
Turn off the filter pump before changing the position of the control valve.

3. Turn the control valve to 'Backwash'.
Turn the control valve to the 'Backwash' position.

Then turn the pump back on.

Run the pump for 15 seconds, or until the water from the hose is clean again.

4. Turning off the pump
Turn the pump off again.

5. Set the control valve to the 'Rinse' position.
Set the control valve to the 'Rinse' position.

Turn the pump on again.

👉 The 'Rinse' position causes any loose filter glass to be rinsed away so it does not get back into the hot tub.

Run the pump again for 15 seconds.

Turn the pump off again.

6. Return the control valve to 'Filter'.
Return the control valve to the 'Filter' position.

Your filter pump is now ready to purify water again!

Replacing the filter glass

We recommend replacing the filter glass that this pump uses to filter the water once every two or three years for the best possible results. You can, of course, order this filter glass from us.

🔧 Step by step: replacing filter glass
1. Disconnect UV filter
Turn the blue swivel of the UV filter to the right to disconnect it.

2. Remove filter cap.
Unscrew the clamping rings on both sides.

Carefully remove the filter cap from the tank.

3. Detach filter tank from base
Turn the gland of the circulator a quarter turn to create slack.

Place one foot on the stand and snap the filter tank off the base to the left.

4. Remove central tube
Remove the central filter tube from the filter tank.
This prevents damage and makes emptying easier.

5. Remove filter glass
Empty the filter tank completely.

The dirty filter glass may be disposed of in the glass waste (glass container).
Be careful not to lose the rubber ring in the tank.

6. Replace the filter tank
Snap the empty filter tank back onto the base.

Replace the central filter tube in the center of the tank.

7. Protect central tube
Put the protective cap on the tube opening before adding the new glass.
Don't have it anymore? Then use a cloth or plastic bag.

8. Add new filter glass
Fill the tank about halfway with the new filter glass.

If necessary, pour into a bucket first to avoid tampering.

Remove the protective cap and spread the filter glass evenly throughout the tank.

9. Replace filter cap
Replace the filter cap on the tank and secure with the clamping rings.

Tighten the swivel at the circulation pump securely to prevent leakage.

10. Replace the UV filter
Tighten the blue swivel on the UV filter firmly.

Replace UV lamp

The UV lamp in your filter pump breaks down bacteria and algae, keeping your water clean and clear. Over time, this lamp needs to be replaced. In this manual, we explain step by step how to do this safely.

Note: Make sure the hot tub is empty before you begin.
If there is still water in it, it will drain out as soon as you unscrew the swivels.

🔧 Step by step: replacing UV lamp
1. Disconnect the UV holder.
The UV lamp is inside a blue tube attached to the filter pump.

Turn the two blue swivels to the right to disconnect the UV holder.

2. Remove the lamp and quartz glass
Unscrew the black swivel to gain access to the lamp.

Carefully pull the UV filter out of the holder.

⚠️ Be careful - the quartz glass is fragile.

3. Check the parts.
Inside the holder are two parts:

The UV lamp itself.

The quartz tube (glass casing).

Make sure these are connected properly.
If they are not seated properly, the lamp will not work.

4. Install the new UV lamp
Insert the new UV lamp and (if necessary) the quartz tube into the holder.

Tighten the black swivel securely again.

5. Reconnect the UV holder to the filter pump
Attach the holder back to the filter pump with the UV lamp on the bottom.

Tighten all swivels securely to prevent leakage.

⚠️ Important: Only turn on with water!
Do not turn on the filter pump until the hot tub is filled with water again.

The lamp must not run dry or it will get too hot and may break.
